During the holidays I participated in Katie Wardrobe’s “5 day challenge” which took us through how to use various music apps etc to engage students in music classrooms. I have learnt some new ways to get student creating both music and, they can be applied to the Languages classroom.
I am always looking for new learning opportunities to add to my choiceboard options for students and this is a useful tool. It is an interactive board where students can introduce themselves and share information about their interests etc using padlet.
I will be offering this as way to share information about themselves in our “May I introduce…” unit, where students will be brainstorming relevant information/questions that they would like to share about themselves in Indonesian – fitting beautifully with the achievement standards in most learning bands in the Australian Curriculum.
The other great thing about it being online, it means that it can easily be shared by our sister schools, as well as schools within our Languages hub. In addition to that, you can also download as a pdf, image and print it! I have only set up the free account and as I use choiceboards – only a few students at a time do a particular activity or task. However, you could also set up a class padlet, where students collaborate and all share on the one board. Lots of different ways to use it! Have a go, it is easy to use and very forgiving if you make a mistake! I look forward to seeing/hearing about what you/your students have created using padlet!
