Tellagami is an easy and fun way to share information. We used the app to culminate our “Di sekolah” topic. The 3-4 class were asked to take a photo somewhere in the school yard to use as a background. We then created our ‘gami’, inserted the school photo as a background and recorded ourselves discussing how we came to school each day. I like how students listen and rerecord their texts, if they are not happy with how something sounds, so they are revising constantly the questions and phrases we are covering in the topic.
‘Gami’ can be saved to the camera roll, therefore can be saved to USB or to another computer. We tried inserting our gami into some of the digital story makers on the ipads, but as yet, have not found one that allows the ‘gami’ in. Will keep searching!!
Gamis can be inserted into imovie. Students can all make their own gami and then put them together as an imovie on a particular subject/topic.
It would work well with our exploring local services unit, where we compared the services in different towns and with Indonesian villages. Each student could do a piece on their chosen town and combine the comparisons on imovie.
